Active-Ate

Active-ate Rugeley is run by Rugeley Community Church in partnership with an exciting range of local organisations, groups and volunteers.

Active-ate Rugeley is a completely Free Family Holiday club, we provide food, sport and craft activities for Primary-aged children, 4-11 year olds and their parents or carers.

Details of upcoming Active-ate days will be provided here and on our Facebook page. Book early to avoid missing out!

The scheme launched in 2018, catering for 60 children and their families each day during 4 weeks of the Summer holidays. With the help of our amazing partner groups and organisations and 51 local volunteers we provided 750 lunches and over 400 breakfasts. There were noticeable improvements in health and fitness through the month and great feedback from families.

“So nice for the children to be able to mix, and have something to do in the holidays.”

“What a fun day for families to spend together!”

“My kids loved Active-ate. My kids want to be here every day.”

-Quotes from parents and carers who came to Active-ate Rugeley

The success of the first summer saw the scheme extend out to every school holiday and culminated in winning a national award in 2019 in the ‘Fit & Fed’ category at the annual Streetgames awards in Coventry.

We are so grateful to so many fantastic local people, groups and organisations who have volunteered, run sessions, helped with funding and donated resources.
